More, please! |
Warm and decadent hot fudge sauce poured over ice cream is my favourite treat! When the sauce hits the ice cream, it forms a ribbon of chewy, fudge-tastic goodness. You'll love it so much, you'll want to slap a ring on that fudge and get it to the church on time.
Luscious hot fudge sauce |
Ingredients
Makes a little over 1/2 cup sauce
1.5 oz bittersweet or dark chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons cocoa
1/3 cup water
3 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons corn syrup
Pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla or other extracts, such as peppermint, almond, orange, etc.
Method
- In a saucepan over medium heat, stir chopped chocolate, cocoa and water together until cocoa is dissolved and chocolate is melted.
- Add butter, sugar, corn syrup and salt and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- Bring to a slow bubble, turning down heat if necessary, and let mixture simmer without stirring for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla or other flavoring.
Hot fudge can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks, but it won't last that long!
